--Neils Masterclass| Printmaking | Week 9
Tuesday 20th of November
In Neils masterclass we did not produce any work and as he stated it would be too time consuming and not all that possible in the short time we had there with him that afternoon. I have to say I was a little disappointed! I would not consider printmaking my strongest area when it comes to the art world but I have to say I do enjoy the production of it all and gain some satisfaction.
Neil talked a lot about process and what we would be aiming towards next semester. Again he gave marvellous talks but I feel like if I was to go through the process of creating something it would of convinced me to pick that field for next year. I am going to have to take my time and looks through all my subjects but I think I will consider this in the top three.
I definitely did enjoy seeing good strong examples of what processes and techniques that were involved as I am sure you can tell from all the pictures!
Intaglio printing was the one that caught my attention the most as I never knew much about it before hand. The process behind it definitely held my interest. I like the idea of the carved sunken in areas of the plate holding the ink and the paper being drawn into that and it adds a certain quality and texture that I found to be very aesthetically pleasing.
