Artist Inspiration

Maria Fondler Grossbaum is a 42 year old Russian born mixed media artist.
I love Maria F Grossbaums work. She works with mixed media on canvas and has a beautiful bright and universal colour pallet. Her work features her close admiration of nature and natural states. Grossbaum states that she wants to express the beauty of life. She tries to evoke a sensation of memory in the viewer of a place real or imagined without a literal reference to landscape. This remind me of Abstract Expression with a modern approach. This style of work has really been influencing and inspiring my own practise.  
Like Maria F Grossbaum, I wish to transport my viewer to “distant lands” although in my case I want that distant land to be a place of creativity and self-expression. 
Grossbaum also explores the ambiguity between pure abstraction and implied realism.
What i find interesting about my own practise, with out even tending to my work always comes back to that theme of nature/ natural processes. I dont know why this is but I think this is why I am drawn to Grossbaum so much!

11th of October 2017 Maria Kulikovska is an artist from Ukraine, who uses her body to create amazing three dimensional sculptures. When Kulikovska did her presentation on Wednesday I found it to be very emotional. There was this woman standing infront of a number of students telling us she doesn't belong anywhere in this world. What she considered home was no longer anything but a political statement.  Displaced from her own country and Europe. Her art project "Raft CrimeA" was a representation of her not belonging on any sort of land and it was indeed a very daunting but adventurous experience for Maria.  There were many crazy and absurd stories Maria Kulikovska had to offer and I was intrigued by every single one. Wednesday Lecture | Jasmir Creed | 6th of February

Jasmir Creed Jasmir Creed is an artist most recently based in Liverpool, Manchester being her hometown. Studying Fine Art at Wimbledon College of Art in London. She is very much attracted to and inspired by transient places. From what I gathered about Creed she admires the short amount of time a person is in such a place but really how much that area is apart of their lives. As for instance, standing waiting for a train in a station. A pretty mundane act, repeated undoubtedly by millions. So what does this person really take in? What do they notice? Has it just became a blur a meaningless act of routine and form? There is a strong sense disorientation in her work through the use of perception and depiction, sometimes leaving you feel alienated in this big world that surrounds us.
